Quick drive to Hornsea this afternoon, the tide was coming in and there were people enjoying the warm weather. There was quite a strong wind off the sea which made things a little bit challenging, but it was warm and bright. In the very far distance the chalk cliffs of Flamborough could be seen. This is a quick oil sketch, 12 x 10“ on canvas board. I’m hoping to do more beach scenes as the year passes, perhaps compare how this late September view compares to winter.
