An early, 5am! walk with a dog who is a little out of sorts with his emotions made it a long day. Couple of days ago I saw a deer emerge from a verge, down a plantation track. It stopped, I stopped, we watched each other before the deer walked away. But, that is not all, it was followed by two smaller versions, two very small youngsters who looked adorable. They all disappeared into the undergrowth in the wood. I thought I might return and paint the scene. As I painted a deer emerged again, but much further away, you might just be able to see it. This time it was alone. The weather was really too hot and I was concerned for both George and indeed, myself, so I packed up and moved to a shady spot to finish it. If you are reading this George ( the cyclist ) I hope you approve. The wood is called Old Dale Plantation and is near South Dalton. This is a 3 x 2 feet canvas, painted mostly with the three primaries again.
Available to reserve from my online shop.
