After dropping off two calendars a short meandering detour via Bainton found me here, on a grass verge looking over towards Neswick Farm. The view is typical of the area, which is of flatter lands, consequently they are very wet with standing water here and there. A sharp comparison with the free draining Wolds, not too far away. This area is very quiet and not visited unless one has a need to, hence there is little traffic and I walked George along a muddy road. We passed tall grass crops, a sign nearby mentioned that they were grown to be used to generate methane gas via a digester plant....( sic ). Another interesting sign was seen later at the farm, which mentioned wildlife benefits. Geese were present in an adjacent field and so I included some here. The rain stopped and a weak sun shone monentarily before being overpowered. The tree belt is changing colour, possibly a little later than usual. As I sketched a man driving a telehandler expertly removed some bales from the huge pile and took them away, I suppose for bedding. A feature of the area here is the number of horses which can be seen in segmented fields, a few wearing heavy protective coats.
