Geese fighting a strong westerly over the Humber...

A recent trip found me walking the shoreline near the Humber Bridge at Hessle. The ominous sky boiled with angry dark clouds , the far Lincolnshire bank just visible sat on a silver light. Overhead I saw a disheveled group of geese striving against a vicious westerly. They made slow progress as they flew past, reminding me of my nightly walks with George when I hear invisible geese calling from a black sky. The Humber twinkled as I walked away, the tide turning and incoming quickly covering the foraging footsteps of gulls and perhaps geese. You may need to zoom in to see the geese.

Oil on canvas, 30x24 inch.
