It is still very hot and after an early morning walk I found myself here again, on the Westwood. I set out to sketch some cows as reference material, thinking about including them in a Westwood scene. However, the cows were a long way from any shade so I stayed under a tree, in the shade and sat with George. It was comfortable, a gentle breeze proved refreshing and I wondered about a doing pochade box sketch. So here it is, nearby a young boxer, Stanley made short excursions into the sun from a similar shaded place. He was with L who was trying to read, sitting in the back of their car, with the tailgate raised. They were both waiting for a call from a local hospital, being ready to go and pick up, then a longish drive back to Caister. Happily, they are all moving to Beverley soon. So, this picture is a memory of the day and I left hoping all would be well.
