Beverley, a view from the Westwood.

Just back from the Westwood where I parked in the shade of a tree. George happy to have the freedom of either sitting in an open boot or out on the grass. This is a large plein air painting 30 inches by 20 inches on Loxley Gold deep edge canvas. So, it took some time. This must be, just about everyones' favourite view, of the Minster from the Westwood. The Minster rising high above the town and trees. Today the free roaming cows decided to keep away, which was a shame, as I wanted to paint them in to the scene. As I painted several people, keeping their distance, came over for a chat. I was in no rush to complete the painting, it sort of evolved, it is not over worked but captures the essence of this beautiful place.
