Sketchbook…evening doodle

Painting from last night, the second of the hottest days on record, needing some respite went to to the Westwood to walk the dog. Just thought, sitting on the back of the car that I would have a go at a quick sketch. So here it is, an attempt to capture of a Sunset with Black Mill to one side. Actually went the following night and spent more time just looking. The sun was slightly differently framed but I made another sketch just using a pencil and concentrating on values. It was a very interesting exercise which I may well go on to develop. Thank heavens it is much cooler this evening.

Just a reminder that my virtual exhibition, at the moment is

THE YORKSHIRE WOLDS
