Woodland painting at Newbegin Pits, Beverley, including video.

30th April 2020.

Rain was forecast for the afternoon and so I took George for a long walk nice and early to Newbegin Pits. I had my sketchbook so when I saw this I stopped and made a drawing, adding notes to help me remember the significant details. On the way home we stopped to chat to a young mother. Oscar, her son approached George tentatively, but before long he was patting and sliding over a prone George who did'nt mind at all. The colours of the original are less sharp I think than this picture, which shows one of the main pathways through the wood.

 Getting tricky underfoot now !!!
The cows have discovered the wood....(;o)

See me painting this here.  ( my hair is longer now )

I was inspired to paint trees, with shadows, after watching a wonderful art demo recently by the American artist, Albert Handell, facilitated by Eric Rhoades at Streamline Art Videos. See and listen to the wonderful Albert, explaining how he works and the to see him applying paint, see video here.

20 x 16 oil on canvas.

£250.
