Beverley Minster seen from the south west. It had been very cold, snow was covering the fields. I set off with my French easel and climbed a slight incline from the footpath ( map ref TA 03518 37853). The snow was crisp, about 10 inches deep. I had my insulated boots on and a warm jacket as I started to paint. The winter colours were surprisingly vivid and colourful. This view is now lost. The suggestion of buildings above the dog walker were stable blocks. The tree just appearing on the left marks a significant place where a land drain diverts, useful for precise location. All the fields have been developed for housing, in fact where I am standing when I painted this is also being developed. When painting a neighbour from Long Lane appeared walking her two little terriers.
