I do like this view, done in February, Valentines Day, it shows bare trees and a wintry sky. St. Mary’s has an interesting history, at one time it was occupied by Cromwell and used as a stable for his horses. Lewis Carroll is said to have been inspired to include the March Hare as a character in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, after seeing a carving inside St.Mary’s.
This is one of my large watercolour paintings sketched at the site and painted back at home.
