Hi again, these simplistic sketches were to look at values. Got distracted by North Dalton though and added a little colour. Learning to simplify a view and sketching at the site is a very useful exercise and helps develop your observational skills. I find it also helps to squint a little when looking at a view, for me it helps to see less detail and more of the essential values. Have a go. I guess most people would use a grey wash but remember it is values you are looking at and so any colour would work, see Holme on the Wolds above.
