Two old sketches featuring scenes from Kingston Upon Hull.
This view shows Dock Street from the car park of the demolished Customs House, now the site of Gosschalks Solicitors. The music shop, Gough and Davy can be seen at the end of Dock St. It is, in fact in Savile Street, which runs across th end of Dock St.
Still one of my all time favourite pictures. Also one that is sort of important as a record of the area. When Myton Bridge was built it enveloped an old, small, family run ship yard. The Warfolks were good friends and very skilled engineers. Now sadly gone. Behind their small workshop the huge modern works of the Docks Board and Pilotage slipway dominated the area. All this has now been replaced with modern buildings, housing, but specifically, The Deep.
