Delphiniums at Castle Howard.

Plein air, oil on canvas 12 x 10 inch.

These delphiniums are rather awesome, two huge borders, either side of box enclosed massed beds. I have posted this as an impression. It shows some of the seating which I might detail more later. The delphiniums are mainly shades of blue with white here and there. They are a great feature of the walled garden though a little tricky to paint, to get the effect. Hope you like this, it will be one of my exhibited picture in October.
