Castle Howard, walled garden 30th July 2015.

Plein air oil on board 12 x 10 inches.

Travelled across to Castle Howard to continue trying to record the walled garden as it progresses through summer. This is a view over the far side from the entrance looking towards a distant gateway. Beds of flowers seem to be at a state of change though the lavender and campanula were much in evidence. We met several people whilst painting including a couple from the south of England ( hope you like the finished painting ) with their lovely elderly dog. The painting has turned out to be a little impressionistic though I feel quite happy that it captures the moment.
