The weather forecast was wrong. It was cold and very grey with a northerly wind. I had expected sun and no wind. However, here we are at Lund, hoping to paint a couple of sketches. This is the first, showing the church, All Saints which is prominently positioned near the Green and the Wellington Public house. As I painted the view a sparrowhawk settled in the large tree. A lovely aspect of Lund is the old, converted lamposts which are adorned with the three crowns of Hull. They enhance the street scene as well as providing practical help. I liked the way shadows striped the road and how the bright evening sun lit up the grassy steep bank.
