Iris sibirica

Pen and ink computer rendered sketch.

Sunday 12th June, 2016.
The day started cloudy and ominous, rain had been mentioned to the south of us over in Lincolnshire and that it may reach us in beautiful East Yorkshire. In the event we were spared. Another visit to Wassand Hall found us sitting near this iris. Here is my impression of this exotic looking plant. One loses some of the nuance of a watercolour wash, however I do like the outcome. The visit was marked by meeting up unexpectedly with an old friend and ex colleague Chris and his wife with their chihuahua, apparently staying with them as a  guest.
