Looking west from Warter Road, Etton, East Yorkshire, 16th June 2013

plein air, oil on board 12 x 10"
Returning to the same place as two weeks earlier I wanted to try and capture the massive sky towering over the distant wolds. This long straight road vanishes into the distance heading for Kiplingcoates. The oil seed crops describe the shapes of the land and the hedgerows are full of summer flowers. Cow parsley is still evident however the campion is not as visible as before. One delightful sound was the " little bit of bread and no cheeeeesseee" of the yellow hammer. I could not see it, but it kept calling - a sound I have not heard much recently.
Happy Painting
