Willow Lane, Beverley

Willow Lane 19th August 2012 - 12 x 9 oil on canvas
This view across from Willow Lane shows the Minster emerging, as in mediaevel times from the tree line. This view looks over some marshy land which is full of wild flowers. Just looked up the name of the tall pinkish flower - it is great willowherb known for growing in marshy areas.

Another view as above with some white butterflies.
I wanted to try the same view again - before the rain came. The weather was very hot and humid and rain had been promised. It came about half an hour after packing up. While looking at the view I noticed 3 or 4 large white butterflies and tried to give an impression of these fluttering about - can you see them?
