Black Mill, Beverley, East Yorkshire.

Black Mill, Beverley Westwood, East Yorkshire - acrylic on canvas 20 x 16"
The disused mill is a local landmark and one which I wanted to document from different viewpoints over the course of a year. Today the weather is bad, rain and snow over at Leeds has closed the Leeds airport. Too wet to get out ... again!! This is a summer view from 2010, I think, again before the turbines were erected in the distance. I love the B I G skies one sees from the Westwood. St Mary's church is just suggested towards the bottom right giving us a clue to the proximity of Beverley. We are lucky here to see and above ( sic ) all - hear skylarks, ascending.... and descending (o).
Happy Painting.
